Data
Medispense has implemented privacy and security measures to ensure compliance with GDPR regulations and protect user data. While risks have been identified and mitigation measures put in place, ongoing consideration, design enhancements, and rigorous testing are essential to address potential vulnerabilities comprehensively. Medispense acknowledges the need for further refinement and improvement to create a foolproof system that prioritises user safety and privacy.
In addition to the measures mentioned above, it is recommended that Medispense appoints a dedicated privacy officer and information security officer as external consultants. These professionals can provide expertise and guidance to ensure continuous compliance with privacy regulations, assess and mitigate risks effectively, and enhance the overall privacy and security posture of the organisation.
After meeting with privacy Expert Lennart Huizing from privacydesigner.nl, who gave us feedback and input on our initial draft of their data excel tool, following Ideas and Plans were implemented regarding Data Security and Privacy. This plan can be found here.
Marketing strategy
To ensure the success of Mia as a product, it is crucial to raise awareness among the target group. Medispense can consult with external communication and marketing agencies to develop appropriate marketing strategies. One initial idea is to focus on marketing the product at relevant locations such as doctors' offices and pharmacies, where the target audience is likely to be present.
Cost Considerations
The subscription fee for the Mia dispenser has been set at 40 euros per month, positioning it as a more affordable option compared to competitors found online. Extensive research indicates that price plays a significant role in consumers' acceptance of medication dispensers. In the future, as Mia proves its effectiveness in improving medication adherence, there may be potential for governments and health insurance providers to contribute toward the cost. This is supported by the estimeted cost of 100 bn USD, caused by medication non-adherence.
Expansion Plans
Initially, Medispense operates within a limited area in Germany. The company's expansion strategy involves first expanding its services within Germany before considering expansion into other countries within the EU. The timing of expansion will be correlated with the rollout of E-Prescriptions in each respective country and careful assessment of the legal requirements and market potential.
Device Development
Before Mia can be fully rolled out, comprehensive testing and evaluation is necessary on multiple fronts. The user interface of the device must be tested for its effectiveness, involving members of the target group to provide valuable feedback. Based on the feedback received, Medispense can then improve and realise the app prototype by outsourcing to an experienced App Developer.
Additionally, the dispenser itself requires further improvement. This includes creating a detailed manufacturing plan that evaluates relevant processes and material choices. It is important to align the design vision with the manufacturing possibilities to ensure a feasible and cost-effective production process.
Furthermore, the mechanism of the dispenser must undergo rigorous evaluation to ensure its safety and accuracy. As identified with privacy considerations, malfunctioning of the mechanism poses a significant risk to both the company and most importantly, its users. Thorough testing, analysis, and refinement of the mechanism are essential to provide a reliable and secure product.
